Sound Advice began as an idea in the 1970s that people were going to want automated control of their home entertainment systems, a kind of “Jetsonesque” life-style. The custom audio/video business got its start in 1991 under Rodney Cowden and later evolved to include computer services in 2007. 2007 also saw the addition of Brian Messer to the team, who helped the business grow and eventually became owner of the company.
In 2014, Sound Advice merged with Lafayette PC to expand their service offerings. Brian Messer provides the overall direction for the business and is the primary person for consulting and design across the entire company. Jason Rubsam, the previous owner of Lafayette PC, leads the computer services division. Together, they seek to provide more comprehensive and evolving technologies to the Lafayette, Indiana area.
